Who we are

  • Mark Griffiths - Managing Director

Joined The Edge in 2006 having worked previously at Kalamazoo I specialise in security and event related printing, this isn’t the best photo of me that I have seen but the rest of the guys got bored waiting for me to give them one that I was happy with so they collared me in the office one day and took it, I have asked the studio to photoshop it but they say they are too busy doing my design work to pamper to my vanity. I am based in Cardiff and in my spare time I coach a junior rugby side I also enjoy going to the gym to keep in trim.

  • Stephen BenbowSales Executive

Landed at The Edge in 2008, family man with 3 kids, a dog and house rabbit. His home life is very similar to the BBC sitcom Outnumbered. Has a degree in European Business Administration. This sounds boring but it included a years so called studying in Holland, where he once bumped into Steven Hawking in the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Another claim to fame, is his uncle was one of the black and white minstrels on the 1970’s TV show, which was confusing when looking at old family photos when he was a child. If you want to know anything else you’ll have to buy something, or at least sound as if you are going to buy something.

  • Hazel Ross - Security Field Sales

I studied Typography for Print at college and after graduating in 1992 embarked on a career in the Print Industry, over the years specialising in Security Print. In 2008 after 9 years working for Kalamazoo Security Print I joined The Edge and have never looked back. My office is in Edinburgh where I mainly account manage our customers in the north of the UK however I am known to venture south occasionally!

  • Gwenda Jones - Office Manager

I have worked at the Edge since December 2000, I started in the accounts but now like to think that I provide support in all aspects and fields as Office Manager. When at home in the ‘Gavin and Stacey’s’ town of Barry I am the proud Mum and Gran of 4 children and 4 grandchildren, who regularly drive me mad! During my spare time I enjoy relaxing with a glass of Prosecco and a dish of olives in my garden or, better still, in Sorrento.

  • Simon RyanProduct Development Manager

Simon joined The Edge in April 2015. He has been working in the print industry for over 25 years, working mainly in large format print, and has gained a large amount of experience in this area - we hope Simon will bring this knowledge to The Edge and our new product range. When not working Simon also offers a bank and taxi service for his two very active and sporty children - Simon has always enjoyed sport, but now finds that watching either the kids or the local teams is better then competing!

  • Mike Jenkins - Sales Administration

Mike joined The Edge in 2002 straight from college and will more than likely retire here too (if Dave will keep him that is!) He likes to spend hisspare time with his family going for walks, play centres and cooking with them too... anything to make them happy. Outside the office Mike loves getting his hands dirty and his passion (apart from making children which I can’t do anymore) is Motocross - dirt biking for those who do not know what that is! Dave always panics when Mike books a day off for Apex in case he has to do the shipping if he breaks a leg. And if there is one thing Mike HATES – that is Football & Rugby, whereas everyone else in the office loves them! He is also known to be a fan of ABBA, Dancing Queen in particular - he admits its cheesy but it always makes hime happy.

  • Charlotte James - Sales Administration

Charlotte lives in Barry and studied History and Ancient History at Cardiff University. She loves going to music festivals and gigs, which she admits at times is a very expensive hobby! Charlotte watches far too many films, especially those of David Fincher, John Carpenter and Quentin Tarantino. She spends far too much money on clothes and Haribo!

  • Simon Morton - Sales Administration

Simon joined the Edge in January 2014 having previously worked as a learning support assistant. He has worked in nurseries, special needs schools, primary schools, high schools and most recently at a college for students with an autistic spectrum condition before deciding it was time for a new challenge. Simon is originally from Cardiff and looking forward to moving back to the city having just bought a house there. Simon is our resident Welsh speaker which we hope will appeal to our Welsh speaking community.

  • Ian Erasmus - Studio

Ian, a keen Golfer, originally from Pontllanfraith in the Sirhowy Valley, moved to Cardiff in the mid seventies. Ian has worked within the print industry since joining Burroughs in January 1978, and has enjoyed a variety of roles and challenges, gaining experience along the way. Ian joined The Edge in October 2009 to work in the studio, and is witnessing the company go from strength to strength.

  • Richard Laws - IT & Web Manager

Richard studied Computing at Sheffield Hallam University and graduated in 2006. He jumped straight in to a job at promotional and print software specialist, PromoServe, where he worked there for 7 years before moving to The Edge. Richard now works from our Rotherham office and manages all of the websites and IT for The Edge and makes sure that we are kept up to date with all things 'techie'. He loves playing football and watching movies, however with a son he doesn't get much time to watch them in peace these days!
